Daniel Saleem shares his voice and passion through his music. He got his start in music around the age of eight years old in his family church. His family encouraged him to pick up any instrument he could, he found his passion in the piano and organ. He began taking lessons at the Gibson School of music on 2008 where he would later become an instructor for the piano. He loves to introduce beginners to music. Daniel majored in the trumpet throughout High School where he was first Trumpet in the Concert Band, Jazz Band and Orchestra. He has played with bands and groups all across Philadelphia. He was fortunate enough to play alongside jazz bassist Christian McBride and Organist Joey Defrancesco. Daniel is currently attending the University of the Art where he is studying piano under Tom Lowtin. After College he plans to continue to teach and to hopefully open an environment where musicians can come and showcase their talents.
Daniel feels a sense of freedom and when playing his instruments. It is a way for him to truly express himself in ways words can’t. His goal is to entertain, inspire and connect with people. He believes that music is an universal language strong enough to bring people together no matter what race, age, or religion. He wishes to continue sharing his experiences and ideas through song for as long as he lives.
